AHA Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR & AED Course
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR and AED Course is intended primarily for those who are expected to provide CPR and first aid for children. The Course is particularly ideal for child care workers, teachers, parents, grandparents, babysitters and volunteers who work with children.
The Course provides hands-on practice in the skills of first aid for children, including child safety, medical emergencies, injuries, environmental emergencies, CPR and choking for adults, children and infants, and the use of Automated External Defibrillators. A 146-page Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid with CPR and AED Student Workbook is provided to each participant for review before, during and after the Course. A memory aid cards is included with the Workbook, displaying the simple steps for adult, child and infant CPR and AED use.
A Pediatric First Aid Quick Reference Guide is also included with the Workbook, covering choking, bad allergic reactions, diabetes and low blood sugar, seizures, shock, bleeding, penetrating objects, animal and human bites and poison emergencies.

STUDENT MATERIALS:
AHA Pediatric Heartsaver CPR & AED manual pocket mask with one way valve as a mouth to mask barrier device & gloves in a hard case.

ASSESSMENT:
Both a written test and several skills tests are required for course completion.
